Painting With Stamps_The Journal Cover_Painting Faces Part 2
Hello there!
I get many emails and messages regarding painting African American skin tones .. so I thought I'd give a a close up view of how I build up colors to achieve one of the darker skin tone shades that I use.
Hope you enjoy - and thanks for watching!

Playing With Stamps
For a long time now, I've wanted to see what my designs would look like in a stamp. Unfortunately, I was not able to get many answers to my questions from some artists who have successfully made the jump from decorative art to stamps ... sooooo...
I took matter into my own hands and made my own. Stamp carving on lino blocks was challenging at first, but I got the hang of it.
Stay tuned to see what I have in store for my stamps!

GoodBye 2012 .... Hello 2013
Unlike many ... I love saying hello to a new year. I don't look back with regrets ... only forward - knowing that every new day is a blessing.
I am looking forward to the new year ... taking many more chances with my artwork ... and putting more stamps in my passport!
I hope each of you are bringing in the New Year with loved ones, and are safe and warm...and healthy.
Here's to a New Year!

Journal
Another swap, another attempt at mixed media. This time the theme on the Art For The Creative Mind group is Recycle & Reuse. I had an old sketchbook - unused - which I thought would look nice with an updated cover.

I crackled the basecoat, added some paper accessories from my scrapbooking stash...and I added the vines and leaves using Ceramcoat acrylics. I am very happy with the way this turned out - and hopefully my swap partner will enjoy it as well.

Father's Day Is Just Around The Corner Mom ....
...and I need a card.
That's what my 11 yr old said on Sunday - so I dug through my stuff and came up with this card. I am really happy with how it turned out. I left the inside blank, so that he could write something special to his Dad.
